Wisdom Tooth Extractions

Wisdom teeth generally erupt into the mouth by the age of 18 years and may even extend upto 22 years or even later. They may erupt into the oral cavity depending on the space available or may remain in the bone unerupted. Their eruption into the oral cavity depends on many factors like the space available, the position of the tooth, early shedding of the other teeth.

The gum overlying the tooth may get infected causing severe pain and discomfort radiating to the jaws, ear, temple region.. The wisdom teeeth, if they erupt in an abnormal position cause changes in the temporomandibular joint leading to problems over a period of time and also can damage to the adjacent teeth. The abnormal position of the teeth may cause difficulty in brushing and maintaining good hygiene of the teeth.

In CHOPRA DENTAL CLINIC removal of wisdom tooth  is done in a highly sterilized environment. Prior to the removal, an X-Ray evaluation and the possible complications are discussed with the patient.

Oral Tumour

Oral tumour is the irregular growth or mutation of hard or soft oral tissues in the mouth. It mostly occurs in elderly person. Oral tumour can be classified as benign or malignant tumours. Malignant tumour is commonly known as oral cancer, which can spread to other parts of the body and can be fatal. Therefore, if there is any uncommon manifestation appearing in the oral tissue, consult your doctor or dentist immediately for a detailed examination and seek appropriate treatment.

TMJ Pain

3

Temporomandibular joint is a complex joint that helps in the movement of the lower jaw and it performs various functions like chewing, speech. For the normal functioning of the joint there has to be a balance between the muscles, bony components and the intervening disc. When the balance is lost it can cause painful conditions where performing even regular functions like speech and chewing are extremely difficult.

Some of the common symptoms of the condition are pain in the region of the joint, pain on opening the jaws, tenderness over the lower jaw especially over the angle, clicking sound on opening the jaws, restricted movement of the jaw, headaches, easy fatigue ability of the jaw muscles, muscle soreness of the chewing muscles.

Every condition should be evaluated from a clinical standpoint and a treatment plan formulated accordingly. The treatment varies from simply restoring the teeth, reshaping the teeth, removing some problematic teeth like third molars, correcting malocclusion, providing adequate rest to the joint, unlearning some deleterious habits, analgesics and the like to more complex treatment like splints to reduce the load over the joints.

We, at CHOPRA DENTAL CLINIC follow a very scientifically proven protocol in an approach to treat these conditions. We follow an approach which is simple initially and based on the outcome progress towards more complex treatment options.

We at CHOPRA DENTAL CLINIC treat the patients having pain in TMJ or Trigeminal Neuralgia with ACUPUNCTURE, WHICH IS DRUGLESS THERAPY, DEPENDING UPON THE SEVERITY OF DISEASE.
